Akaeze: Construction and Clean Water

We are always grateful when new leaders are born through previous experiences with Alongside. Such is the case with Tobyn Pearson, a great new leader who mobilized a team of people through sharing his experiences with fellow workers at MultiServ Canada, located in Hamilton. The team consisted of a variety of people with a mix of general and various gifts and skills.

What a tremendous impact we had to the communities surrounding the project, working alongside our partners with TETMI. Some of the team were involved in long days of strenuous labour, working on the renovating, refurbishing and rebuilding of six community wells. Some had not been functioning for up to 13 years. The team well group was led by Ted Dutaud. Alongside director, David Miclash was also commissioned as an official Chief and Linda Miclash as an official "LoLoo" by "His Royal Highness." This is a tremendous honour to us.

The team continued with the school construction and began a new school addition. As usual, the team engaged in interaction using games including hockey, marbles, and juggling, along with the making of many animal balloons. Many of the team committed to long term involvement and several more school children were sponsored.
